Our staff

Our staff are the heart of our company. They are all are carefully selected through a rigorous recruitment process. This includes: an enhanced Criminal Bureau check, face to face interviews and training.

The qualities we look for in our staff are compassion, respect, commitment, understanding and a friendly attitude. We have people working for us from a range of ages and backgrounds but the one thing they all share is a willing approach and a readiness to adapt to the particular circumstances of our clients.

Our staff are very important to us and are continually supported throughout the year with a staff training and development programme.

Maureen Walker - Registered Manager

Maureen Walker has over thirty years experience in domiciliary care and has achieved two NVQ level 4 in both Care and registered Managers award.

Marie Newman - Manager

Marie has over twenty years experience in care and has achieved NVQs 2,3, 4 and 5 she also has leadership management level 4 award achieved with a City and Guilds Medal of Excellence. Marie is a qualified risk assessor and a moving and handling of people trainer. Marie covers some aspects of the staff training.

Tracy Wilcox (AICB) - Finance Manager

Tracy has twenty years experience with accounts, and is a qualified book keeper with associated membership ICB and has a level 3 in first line management.

Liz Snook - Manager

Liz has many years experience in care, management and staff training. She has her NVQs 2, 3, 4, and 5. Liz is also an assessor for the care and management related diploma and is a qualified risk assessor and moving and handling of people trainer as well as having other staff training qualifications.


Staff employed by The Caring Company will receive training according to the duties they may be required to undertake.

These qualifications will include

  • Certificate in safer people handling

  • Dementia awareness

  • Moving and handling

  • Palliative care

  • Certificate of safer handling medication

  • Certificate in basic food and hygiene

  • Introduction to health and safety

  • NVQ 2/Diploma Level 2 in Health and Social care

  • Equality and Diversity

  • Other appropriate and recognised qualifications

  • Training in Parkinson's disease and strokes awareness
